Salt tolerant earthworm compost as bio-amendment can be used to enrich quality and for reclaiming saline or alkaline or problematic agricultural soil. The sea grasses and drift weeds in coastal area can be exploited for income generation by the costal people. Earthworms were collected from Thondi coast along with sand and sea grasses. It was reared under laboratory condition. It is being tested in the open vermicompost pit at Pondicherry through networking partner, PMSSS.
